Video Notes

Tell the kids that this is an African song and we’re going to explore playing with different kinds of animals.

First move: Elephant stomp. Start them off with feet wide, knees bent, and gettheme to stomp. Count on the beat (1-2, 1-2).
Once they are united in the stomp, ask them to add an elephant trunk. Tell them to take this elephant around the space.
Encourage them to explore different directions and levels. Tell them to dance their elephant and have fun with it!
There is no real time to transition from one move to the next, so use your discretion and gauge when the group is ready.

Second move: Cheetah runs. This is a quick run. Count on the beat. Unify them. Ask them to make a cheetah sound to their neighbor.
Now ask them to creatively zig-zag around the space. Remind them to be careful!

Third move: Snakes. Ask them to show you a snake. Encourage them to make sound with it.

Fourth move: Monkey hops. Tell them to get back up on their feet and hop four times on each foot.
Ask them to add monkey arms and to monkey dance with the person beside them.

Feel free to transition when you want and invite lots of interactions!
