Coaching Notes

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Internal
Purpose: Isolation warm up.

First Move: OTS Head Isolation
Let’s start by looking side to side, warming up the head, like you’re saying no. Can you go a little faster, feel the rhythm in your neck and shoulders, keep it relaxed.
Now look up and down like you’re saying yes, easy and smooth, up and down. What happens if you make it bigger or smaller, what feels good in your body?
You can’t get it wrong, warm it up your way.

Second Move: OTS Shoulder Groove
Now bring your attention to your shoulders and roll them around. Roll them forward, then roll them back, keep your chest relaxed and breathing easy.
What else can your shoulders do, can they go up and down? Try it fast, maybe even faster, let the music bounce your shoulders.
Do it your way, show off your style with those shoulders.

Third Move: OTS Arms and Fingers
Let’s freeze dance with your fingers, wiggle them, flick them, wake up your hands. You can bounce your body while your fingers dance, small or big.
Now start warming up your arms, maybe crazy arms or sharp arms. What shapes can your arms make in the air?
Add your style and personality, no one can do it for you.

Fourth Move: OTS Hula Hoop Hips
Now let’s hula hoop, circle your hips around like you’ve got a hoop. Take it around town, smooth circles through your waist and hips.
Let’s go the other way so we stay even, nice big circles. Can you feel your middle warming up as you move?
Dance it your way, your way is the right way.

Fifth Move: OTS Twist and Reach
Look at this, twist your body side to side, letting your spine rotate. Let the shoulders and ribs join the twist, relaxed and groovy.
Now reach your arms up to the sky and stretch long. Can you stretch across your body side to side?
Make it feel good in your body, you can’t get it wrong.

Sixth Move: OTS Down Stretch and Feet
Do you know where we haven’t gone yet, down toward the floor. Reach your body down and hang, loose and wobbly, let the head relax.
Shake it up a little, wobble and loosen everything. Now tap one foot, then the other foot, feel the rhythm in your feet.
Can you tap both feet or dance your feet a little crazy, show me your style.

Seventh Move: OTS Knees and Shoulder Stretch
Lift one knee up, now the other knee up, how’s your balance today? Keep alternating knees and wiggle your whole body with it.
Let’s warm up the shoulders again, pull one arm across your body and stretch. Do the other side, open the chest and breathe.
Stretch your hands behind you and pull down gently, relax and shake it out.

Eighth Move: OTS March and Face Wake Up
Give me some marches right here, marching in place with energy. Let your body start to feel ready to party, ready to dance, ready to groove.
Roll your body a little and come back to the head again. Look up and down, then try moving just your eyes, then your whole face.
Wake it all up and dance it your way, you can’t get it wrong.
